Heroes is headed for a franchise restart. For real this time.
So promises show creator Tim Kring, who released the following statement yesterday:
"This volume starts us pretty much from scratch. There is almost nothing that the audience needs to know from the previous volume in order to follow the storyline."
Following headlines such as this, the show needs to improve in multiple ways in order to survive past season three. Let's hope it does!
As for whether or not the series will be renewed for a fourth season, Angela Bromstad, NBC's president of primetime entertainment, sounded confident. But she also acknowledged the show's slippage.
"They may have taken on too much in terms of characters and multiple storylines," Bromstad said.
Heroes returns on February 2, as the characters will try to lead normal lives... until Claire discovers a plot to hunt down and capture those with powers, orchestated by Nathanâ¨.

If they are going to re-boot the series again it had better be worth it. There are so many Unanswered questions still lingering are we to forget about them now since this reboot will happen?

They're not rebooting it. At least, not in terms of ignoring everything that had happened beforehand. There's a difference between starting fresh and rebooting everything.
As for what Kring promises...until I see it with my own eyes, I'm not getting my hopes up. We've heard this multiple times this last year. "We've identified the problems and these next few episodes will be better!", "There have been some mistakes but we're making up for them", "I promise change, this season will be the best", etc. It seems the Heroes staff loves to apologize and make promises but in the end don't make any effort to adhere to their word. I hope Kring is right this time, I love Heroes and this volume does sound good.

i hope he keeps his word too, Vol 3 had alot of potentiel if heroes had done it a bit better (making no plotholes) i mean every show has plotholes but heroes has attracted smart veiwers so they need to stay on top of things...
But hey at least claire actually figured something out, how thickheaded has she been this last volume or 2?! i hope they give her (and everyone else) their lkives bak the way they were in season one, now that is a season that i always remember!!!!

I agree with Herogirl. I hated season 2 because of the way the characters were screwed up. IMO, season 3 had great potential plot-wise but everything was so rushed and there were obvious plot holes and discontinuity everywhere. My main grievance was how Arthur was killed off so soon and so easily. He could've been a more menacing and convincing villain. I wish that season 4 brings back beloved characters from season 1 with suspenseful plots like season 3 but more robustly developed.

i actually liked season 2, even though it was a bit short. im REALLY psyched for when fugitives comes out though!!

i think that fugitives will be really good, but i've been wrong before, like when heroes season 2 (or volume 2) started i had a huge smile on my face but it only got good after "Four monthes ago" was it called? i excused cos' of the writers stirke cos after i rewatched it it was much better, hopes went into volume 3 and my favourite ("Our father") looked like it could be from season 1 and thats wat i liked as long as fugitives is better than volume 3 and vol2 (it wont be better than vol 1 cos thats hard to beat) i'll watch

I just want the heroes to go against PRESENT day problems with a TRUE evil defined from beginning to end. I dont want anything thats "in between". Re-Boot if you have to but dont CONFUSE the audience in any way, shape, or form. If their is somebody we have to love..make us love that person...if there is someone we have to hate..make us hate that person. These writers need to watch LOST I tell ya. I remember season 1 they were like "Our writing is just like LOST"...riiiiittte! Look at your writing now. Be Good..STAY good!

I did enjoy season 2, but season 3? meh.... It had it's ups and downs. It was a smart move to bring adam back since he was a major charector last season. But then, to kill him off so quick was a huge mistake! And from season 3 this whole sylar thing. It is good or is he a villian. I was getting rather tired of that waffling back and forth!
