Ok at least i know i'm not the only one who loves the scaled-down abilities thing. I'm all for Peter and Hiro getting their powers back, but i think this was an awesome move on the writers' part. It makes sense that when Peter injected himself with the formula that he got a power similar to his original one but not quite to the same extent, since it was artificial.
People seem to forget that in season 2 Sylar did lose his powers, all of them. I personally thought that it was a great way to show that he was still super evil, without powers, since it showed how smart, and ultimately, how dangerous he was. So when he got them back, it was like, "oh crap, this is bad." In a similar way, i think the loss of his powers has forced Peter to use his head, and he's become a kick-butt hero again because of it. Like season 1, i think that Peter will learn to hold on to more than one power at once, and then he will once again become the most powerful hero.
And when that happens, PLEASE let's get our long-awaited Sylar/Peter showdown!

Thank god the fans aren't the ones dictating the show.
A few months ago, everyone was complaining that the show sucks because Peter and Hiro's powers were over-the-top and destroying the plot. Now everyone's complaining because their powers have been scaled back to a reasonable level.
There's only one thing this show needs, and it's more human story-telling like we had back in season 1. Last week's episode (Ep. 20) is the first in a long time that displayed that pure, human element that made it so popular in the first place.
More episodes like this, and less OMG PETER VS. SYLAR SUPER BATTLES, is what will bring the fans back.

Come on... it's a Sci-Fi show... tell why the writers can't find a way to both give them their powers back, and scale down their effect on the show... remember the haitian? There are plenty of powerful superheroes who have been popular for decades, mostly because of some good writing, and creative thinking... Lets hope the writers get it right, or it doesn't look like we'll have a show to talk about much longer.

I fully disagree with his answer. Its seems to me that Sylar is getting stronger and even unstoppable at this point in the show. By limiting the powers, they are just frustrating viewers. I know the writers want to make the plot better. They are just doing it in a really crappy way.
