Heroes Season Preview: Meet the Villains, Part II

Yesterday, we kicked off our inside look at the six new villains set to take Heroes by storm this season.

Having already met Jesse Murphy and Knox Washington, here's information about two more baddies Heroes fans will see plenty of in the weeks to come...

Character: The German

Played by: Ken Lally

Traits: Can manipulate metal

"Metal is a part of me, I'm a part of it. I'm at one with metal," Lally says of The German.

The German

Character: Eric Doyle

Played by: David H. Lawrence

Traits: Can make people do whatever he wants them to

"He's sympathetic, he's funny, he's creepy. There's a little puppy dog in high school that got kicked around and never got to date the prom queen. Now he does," Lawrence says of Doyle.

Heroes Season Preview: Meet the Villains, Part I

The Heroes season three premiere is less than a week away. With that in mind, USA Today recently previewed the chapter called "Villains."

"We built this volume around the idea of hitting the ground with a tremendous amount of pace and adrenaline," Heroes creator Tim Kring told the newspaper.

Kring went on to explain that this Monday's first episode sets the tone for the season: "We wanted to let the audience know this is going to be a roller-coaster ride," he added.

Sendhil Ramamurthy, who plays Mohinder on the show, echoes that excitement.

"The villains bring a little bit darker feel to the show. Everyone's stakes are so much higher," the actor said. "There's so much happening this season."

Well, let's meet these villains in that case! Follow this article's jump now to get to know the new characters on Heroes...

Heroes Spoilers: Japanese Edition!

We've reported on a number of Heroes spoilers for season three.

Future Peter likely shot Nathan; Sylar sucks Claire's brains out; and he has a son.

Below, though, you have a chance to make up our own spoilers!

E! ran into Masi Oka at the Heroes premiere party last week and asked him to go over a few key plot points for season three... in Japanese! We have no idea what the actor is saying, but it's fun to make it up as he goes along.

Kristen Bell: Elle of a Lot to Come on Season Three!

For awhile, it was unclear if Kristen Bell would even reprise her role as Elle Bishop on season three of Heroes.

Now, the actress has mde it clear that she'll return for the next chapter, replete with an impressive character makeover.

"I actually like where [the writers have] taken the whole storyline this year for everybody, including Elle," Bell told Sci-Fi Wire.

Because season two may seem like a lifetime ago to some readers, a brief refresher:

Elle is a mysterious young woman who possesses electrical powers. She's the daughter of Robert Bishop, the current head of the Company. Because she was left in seclusion for years, Elle is quite mentally unstable - but she may be on a path to enlightenment.

"They're showing more of her human side," Bell said. "She's this vaguely barbaric, unfeeling, antisocial adaptive killer who's coy. However, she's had some tough decisions to make [over the years, and the writers are] giving her more depth. There are flashback scenes showing that she's intricately woven into people's lives before you met her. She met a lot of [the characters] before she was introduced on the show."

Catch Elle - and the rest of the Heroes - when season three premieres... one week from today!

Heroes Spoilers: The Butterfly Effect Synopsis

The second episode of Heroes Season 3 will comprise the second hour of the show’s premiere, which airs on September 22.

It's called "The Butterfly Effect" and here's NBC's official plot summary for it:

In the shocking second chapter of “Volume 3: Villains,” Angela (Cristine Rose) clashes with her much-changed son, Peter (Milo Ventimiglia), over how best to avert a seemingly inevitable worldwide catastrophe. First, Sylar (Zachary Quinto) declares war on the Company by attacking their main facility, and finds even more than he bargained for on Level 5.

During a devastating battle with Elle (guest star Kristen Bell), a dozen savage criminals — all with terrible abilities — escape. Meanwhile, Claire (Hayden Panettiere) discovers something new and unexpected about her abilities. Determined to reclaim his family’s terrible secret, Hiro (Masi Oka) and Ando (James Kyson Lee) track Daphne (guest star Brea Grant) to Paris.

After a fateful night, Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy) is thrilled to find his research, his life and his relationship with Maya (Dania Ramirez) evolving in leaps and bounds. Stuck in unfamiliar territory, Matt (Greg Grunberg) finds a guide (guest star Ntare Mwine) to help him.

Heroes Spoilers Fly Around Matt Parkman

What does the future hold for Matt Parkman, now that he's vanquished the demons of his father?

Kristin from E! Online was asked that question and, well, her answer didn't make it particularly clear:

Matt Parkman's (Greg Grunberg) future is drawn for him by an African bushman, and in the world's future, the sky is full of people who can fly. It'll be just like The Jetsons! Except, you know, no flying contraptions needed. This is a future I'm looking forward to 'cause the traffic on the 405 is killing me.

Chapter Three Will Put Sylar in the Spotlight

Guess we shouldn't be surprised that a chapter called "Villains" would focus on Sylar.

Here's a collections of Heroes spoilers and tidbits that we've picked up concerning the third season and this beloved serial killer:

  • There will be a flashback episode that will depicts events pre-dating the pilot; in it, viewers will get to see more of Gabriel Gray before he became Sylar
  • Zachary Quinto has said he sees similarities between his Star Trek character, Spock, and Sylar: “There are elements of the characters that echo each other, but from opposite ends of the spectrum.” He added that both have “a stillness and a rich internal point of view that informs the way they behave.”
  • Sylar will have “a series of very human relationships in this season,” according to Heroes creator Tim Kring.

Get ready for a lot of Sylar this season, Heroes fans.

Who is Tracey Strauss?

Niki died in a fire during the season two finale of Heroes.

That much is true.

But new Heroes spoilers reveal that Ali Larter will, indeed, be back for the third season of the show. Niki, however, will not.

Not much is known about Larter's new personality, but her name will be Tracey Strauss. We've learned that she'll work closely with the Governor of New York, played by Bruce Boxleitner. Just how closely?

This grainy photo should give you an idea:

Indeed, Tracey is rumored to be the Governor's mistress. She'll reportedly have no recollection of her prior life and will work closely with Nathan to get him involved in the government.

But won't Nathan remember her as Jessica, the woman he slept with in Las Vegas? Guess we'll need to tune in and find out!
