Heroes Round Table: Shades of Gray

Welcome to our 26th Heroes Round Table.

While fans of the show gather in the forums to discuss every character and storyline, our staff comes together every week to analyze the latest developments from the latest episode.

Topics in this edition include: Claire's decision, Nathan's reversal and Tracy. Let's get to the Q&A...

Should Claire have helped Doyle?
A. Hiro: NO! It's all well and good Claire wants to help her friends... but then why not help her friends?!? The last we saw of Doyle, he was acting in as deplorable a fashion as possible. It was very strange to have him just show up, ask for help - and actually receive it!

Milover: Of course not. But this wasn't about Doyle. Claire has now chosen to be a proactive Hero. I'm interested to see where that goes.

Timex: Yes. Can't people change? She didn't intervene until she saw that Doyle didn't kill that agent, even when he had the chance to.

RT

So... is Nathan a good guy again?
Timex: I has a problem with this. I understand Nathan never meant real harm to his friends, but didn't he expect this sort of mission might get messy? It was awfully ignorant of him to turn on the Hunter just because things slipped a bit out of control.

A. Hiro: It's a gray area, hence the episode's title! Nathan truly had the best interests of his country in mind when this volume began. Now he's seen the error in his ways. Nothing wrong with that.

Milover: He always planned on keeping Claire safe, that's nothing new. Nathan was never a true villain, that's what volume three taught us. There's good and bad inside everyone.

Heroes Round Table: Cold Wars

Welcome to our 25th Heroes Round Table.

While fans of the show gather in the forums to discuss every character and storyline, our staff comes together every week to analyze the latest developments from the latest episode.

Topics in this edition include: the episode format, Mohinder and Daphne. Let's get to the Q&A...

This episode focused largely on one storyline. Do you like that format?
A. Hiro: YES! Any series with so many characters and so many threads running through it needs to slow down its pace from time to time. Just look at Lost. Its success is largely due to how intimately fans know each character, as the results of focused episodes such as this.

Milover: I loved it, but I wonder if it would work with any other character. HRG has so much depth and moral greyness to him. Could the show really pull off something like this with Ando, for example?

Timex: If you're asking if I missed another episode that tossed Hiro into some utterly useless, boring plot, the answer is no. This one was great.

RT

Can Mohinder get any dumber?
Timex: It doesn't seem possible. He's worked with the bad guys in each of the past few volumes, and now he knew of Nathan's evil scheme, but didn't reveal it to anyone? Who gave this guy a medical degree?!?

A. Hiro: Who cares? I'm just glad his skin isn't falling off anymore. That was gross.

Milover: It is hard to fathom why Mohinder didn't at least mention to his good pal Parkman that HRG approached him in such a manner. How was your day, Mo? Oh, funny story, Noah Bennet told me we're all gonna be rounded up and held captive!

Heroes Round Table: Building 26

Welcome to our 24th Heroes Round Table.

While fans of the show gather in the forums to discuss every character and storyline, our staff comes together every week to analyze the latest developments from the latest episode.

Topics in this edition include: Tracey's fate, HRG's storyline and Daphne. Let's get to the Q&A...

Can Hiro please stop being sent to other countries?
A. Hiro: Seriously. I love Hiro/Ando interaction, but can someone explain to me the point of last night's India trip being such a focus of the show?

Milover: I wanna remain positive, but I truly don't get it. This entire story line was created so Hiro - at the conclusion of it - could realize that he doesn't need an ability in order to be a hero? Did viewers need to be so bored in order for such a lesson to be learned?

Timex: Hey, I'm just happy Hiro's trip took place in this century this time. And that it's over after just one episode. It beats his never-ending adventure in Feudal Japan during volume two.

RT

Is Nathan being naive?
Timex: Yes. Did he really expect to round up his former allies without any blood being shed? Come on, Senator, you're smarter than that.

A. Hiro: He's just being idealistic. Nathan is actually being written well this volume, as he doesn't exhibit pure evil by any means. He sincerely believes that rounding up the Heroes is the best course of action and, yes, he believes this can be done relatively peacefully.

Milover: It does seem short-sighted on Nathan's part that he believed he could go through with this exercise and not arouse the suspicion of Homeland Security. But at least he got a cute agent looking into him!

Heroes Round Table: Trust and Blood

Welcome to our 23rd Heroes Round Table.

While fans of the show gather in the forums to discuss every character and storyline, our staff comes together every week to analyze the latest developments from the latest episode.

Topics in this edition include: Tracey's fate, HRG's storyline and Daphne. Let's get to the Q&A...

Is this it for Tracey?
A. Hiro: Let's hope so. Ali Larter is gorgeous, but there was little reason to resurrect this version of Nikki/Jessica in the first place.

Milover: No. Based on what we've seen of supposed Heroes' "deaths" so far, I'll believe Tracey is dead only if she's gone for at least two seasons. I still assume Adam Monroe will return.

Timex: Yes. But it opens up the door for this character's next personality. I can't wait to meet Anabelle! Her ability? The art of seduction.

RT

Come on, writers, haven't we seen this HRG storyline before?
Timex: Hey, don't diss my main man! At least his storylines are consistent, albeit repetitive. Other characters seem to change the way they act based on the volume, or even the episode.

A. Hiro: Yes we have. Every season seems to place HRG and Claire at odds because the former is acting in a shady manner in order to protect the latter. I love both these characters, but it's getting a bit old.

Milover: Yes. But Jack Coleman is such a great actor that he makes it feel fresh every time. (And, granted, there have been many times!)

Heroes Round Table: A Clear and Present Danger

Welcome to our 22nd Heroes Round Table.

While fans of the show gather in the forums to discuss every character and storyline, our staff comes together every week to analyze the latest developments from the latest episode.

Topics in this edition include: the new Nathan, HRG and the plane crash aftermath. Let's get to the Q&A...

Can you see Nathan's argument at all?
A. Hiro: Sure. Taken from a purely objective point of view, it's not difficult to understand why someone would see the world as a better place if people with abilities were not using them freely in the real world. Honestly, we haven't seen many examples of the Heroes saving ordinary people from everyday dangers or anything.

Milover: No. I'm all for rounding up the dangerous individuals, as HRG was doing when the series started. But there's no reason to harm Peter and those Nathan know are good-hearted.

Timex: Yes. While most of the Heroes appear to be good people, Nathan is now a public official. His responsibility is to the greater good, the entire country. He can't run the risk that any of these individuals get corrupted and use their abilities for evil.

RT

Why is HRG working with Nathan?
Timex: It's HRG! Let's not question his motives, as he always has his eye on what's best for those around him, even if he uses shady tactics sometimes to get there.

A. Hiro: Is he really doing anything different than he's always done? HRG has always believed that those with abilities should be captured. Except for his Claire Bear, of course.

Milover: Because they have a common bond. Her name is Claire.

Will Sylar ever find his real father?
Milover: Of course. The only question is whether this mean will also be a power-hungry evil-doer. I say yes. The dangerous apple can't fall too far from the tree.

Timex: Maybe he already has. Doesn't The Hunter look about the right age to have fathered Sylar?

A. Hiro: I hope so, and soon. Let's not have Sylar continually navigating the globe, searching for acceptance.

Will all the Heroes survive the plane crash?

A. Hiro: As lovely as she is, I think we may need to bid farewell to Ali Larter and her character of Tracey.

Milover: Nope. Mohinder is a goner. (A guy can dream, can't he?!?)

Timex: Probably. After all, no one ever really dies on the show, right?

Heroes Round Table: The Eclipse Part 2

Welcome to our 21st Heroes Round Table.

While fans of the show gather in the Timex: I'm sure you'll end of coming back to life, like every other character. See you in a couple weeks.

RT

Do you agree with Nathan's decision to use Pineheast powers for good?
Timex: No. While Nathan may have the best interests of the world in mind, remember: power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

A. Hiro: Yes! We've been told that abilities eventually make people evil, but why is Nathan the first to realize how much good they can also lead to? Let's put the proper Petrelli in charge of Pinehearst and see what happens.

Milover: At least he's being proactive. For this entire volume, Team Primatch has been gathering, trying to forge a plan that will defeat Arthur and Team Pinehearst. But do we even know what's so evil about Arthur's side? Go find out for us, Nathan!

Heroes Round Table: The Eclipse Part 1

Welcome to our 20th Heroes Round Table.

While fans of the show gather in the forums to discuss every character and story line, our staff comes together every week to analyze the latest developments from the latest episode.

Topics in this edition include: annoying story lines; Peter vs. Nathan; and HRG's fathering skills. Let's get to the Q&A...

Which couple has a brighter future: Elle/Sylar or Daphne/Parkman?
A. Hiro: Based on the latest round of spoilers, it doesn't look good for Daphne.

Milover: Until that eclipse clears up, the future looks dark for everyone. But I'll choose Elle and Sylar because I love the chemistry between Kristen Bell and Zachary Quinto.

Timex: Well, from the future I saw, it sure looked like Sylar was a single dad.  So I'm going to have to give it to Daphne and Parkman.  I love the ability to see the future.  Takes out any room for drama.

RT

More annoying story line: Hiro as a ten-year old or anything involving Mohinder?
Timex: Hiro as a ten-year old for sure.  Why?  Because Hiro is one of my favorite characters and he's being rendered useless right now.  Mohinder has always been useless.

A. Hiro: There's no way to spin the Hiro story line. Masi Oka was nominated for an Emmy after season one. Look what the show has done to him since!

Milover: I hate how they've destroyed Hiro, but at least I laugh at his antics occasionally. But Mohinder has bone-headedly sided with the evil side for three consecutive seasons now.

Heroes Round Table: It's Coming

Welcome to our 19th Heroes Round Table.

While fans of the show gather in the Timex: Definitely Sylar and Elle. Did you see Sylar with his shirt off? Have you seen Elle in a bikini in Forgetting Sarah Marshall? All I can say is: HOT. Or I could have been cheesy and said "electrifying." Nah, let's go with hot.

RT

Is Claire really the catalyst?
Timex: Sure, why not? Every other season revolves around her for no apparent reason.

A. Hiro: I'm gonna take a wild guess and say it's actually Ando. Remember how he kills Hiro in an alternate future? There's more than meets the eye to this sidekick.

Milover: A little. But at least he can hang out with Isaac in future-telling-painter's heaven.

Heroes Round Table: Villains

Welcome to our 18th Heroes Round Table.

Will you miss the African spirit walk dude?
Timex: What? No. Is that seriously a question? I honestly laughed when his head came off. Now, if you could find a way to bring back Adam Monroe I'd be happy. Now that's a guy I miss!

A. Hiro: Not really. He had a cool accent, but the character was nothing more than a plot device to move the story along in convenient ways.

Milover: A little. But at least he can hang out with Isaac in future-telling-painter's heaven.

Heroes Round Table: Eris Quod Sum

Welcome to our 17th Heroes Round Table.

While fans of the show gather in the forums to discuss every character and story line, our staff comes together every week to analyze the latest developments from the latest episode.

Topics in this edition include: Sylar's motives; Elle's return; and Maya's farewell. Let's get to the Q&A...

Do you trust Sylar?
A. Hiro: I trust him to continually change sides every episode, further clouding an already-confusing series of story lines.

Milover: I actually do. As this chapter is proving, no character is purely good or purely evil. He seems to be turning toward the light.

Timex: Not as far as he can throw Peter.

RT

Any final words for Maya?
Timex: First off, I am very impressed with how quickly you picked up English. Maybe you can teach a class to other immigrants on how to learn English during the off season. Oh, and goodbye, you won't be missed.

A. Hiro: Good riddance.

Milover: I hope you find a peaceful beach hideaway and never come back. Ever. Never, ever come back.
